Description

The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia opening September 2025, will bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities.

Our expert team of physicians and staff will represent a wide range of specialties, including NCI–designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the number one eye hospital in the nation. UHealth at SoLé Mia will also deliver the latest in urologic treatments from the renowned Desai Sethi Urology Institute as well as top-notch care from UHealth’s nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs.

The University of Miami UHealth – Orthopedic Sports Medicine at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a Radiologic Technologist 1.

The Radiologic Technologist 1 (H) sees patients referred for radiological examinations and produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. An employee in this position operates with the goal of preventing patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.

Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors patients’ conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.

Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.

Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.

Records, processes, maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.

Organizes examination rooms, ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.

Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in relevant field

Certification in relevant specialty or field

No experience necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

Responsible for carrying out x-ray procedures as ordered by physicians.

Helps prepare patient for x-ray and reports results on necessary forms.

Responsible for scanning, sorting and filing of films

Checks x-ray supplies and maintain equipment to the best of his/her ability.

Advises supervisor and medical staff of any problems with x-ray procedures, efficiency, safety and overall service.

Track records of all x-rays taken daily.

Track monthly graphs of patient count.

Processes x-rays requested from other doctors and receives x-rays from other facilities
