Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation Travel Contract in Baltimore, Maryland

Facility: University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute
Hospital System: NJ Sports Spine and Wellness
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 11, 2025


Work Schedule

  • 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (day shifts)
  • 1 weekend shift per month

Patient Population

  • Average daily census: 44.5 patients
  • Primary diagnosis: Traumatic brain injuries

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Required certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • State license for Maryland

Required Documentation & Compliance

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE (refer to job description for applicability)
  • State License verification and NURSYS verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (may be completed during orientation)
  • Competency exams including Medication Test/Pharmacology, Color Blind Testing, Age Specific, Dysrhythmia/EKG (annual updates required)

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge
  • Signed job description prior to start
  • Portfolio Epic Training Test Out Form (time sensitive)
  • Security ID Badge Application (must complete within 72 hours of signing)
  • Confidentiality Agreement (must sign prior to start)
  • Dress Code review prior to start
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire (must be completed by all candidates)

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
    • TB Questionnaire (if positive TB result)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required for this facility, but exemptions and documentation may be collected for tracking
  • COVID-19 booster preferred but not required

Background & History Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start (updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Verification of previous 5 years of work history
  • Education verification for highest level of education
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
