Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation Travel Contract in Baltimore, Maryland
Facility: University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute
Hospital System: NJ Sports Spine and Wellness
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 11, 2025
Work Schedule
- 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (day shifts)
- 1 weekend shift per month
Patient Population
- Average daily census: 44.5 patients
- Primary diagnosis: Traumatic brain injuries
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Required certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- State license for Maryland
Required Documentation & Compliance
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE (refer to job description for applicability)
- State License verification and NURSYS verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (may be completed during orientation)
- Competency exams including Medication Test/Pharmacology, Color Blind Testing, Age Specific, Dysrhythmia/EKG (annual updates required)
Facility-Specific Documents
- Passport-style photo for badge
- Signed job description prior to start
- Portfolio Epic Training Test Out Form (time sensitive)
- Security ID Badge Application (must complete within 72 hours of signing)
- Confidentiality Agreement (must sign prior to start)
- Dress Code review prior to start
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire (must be completed by all candidates)
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- TB Questionnaire (if positive TB result)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine not required for this facility, but exemptions and documentation may be collected for tracking
- COVID-19 booster preferred but not required
Background & History Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of work history
- Education verification for highest level of education
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
