Travel Radiology/Cardiology Position

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Facility: Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
Hospital System: Novant Health Crisis Response
Employment Type: Travel/Contract (13-week contracts)


Job Overview

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: First shift with call, staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday
  • Call Requirement: Weekends and evenings/nights on primary and backup on-call rotation
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Daily Case Load: 13-17 cases
  • Patient Population: Mostly adults and geriatrics, some adolescents
  • Unit: Inpatient hospital setting with neuro (including stroke intervention) and body procedures

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Traveler experience required; no first-time travelers accepted
  • Inpatient hospital experience required
  • Skills in vascular studies/procedures, neuro experience (stroke and body work)
  • Experience with all IR procedures including: stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, upper/lower extremity, abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, venous access, neurological studies
  • Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
  • PACS and contrast use experience required

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • Experience with EPIC and Visage systems preferred
  • Experience in outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, community hospital settings
  • Experience with Ablations

Orientation & Equipment

  • Hospital orientation during week one; attendance at daily classes required
  • Scrubs provided
  • Special equipment: Siemens and Phillips x-ray machines required; Acuson preferred

Important Notes

  • No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation and Do Not Rebook (DNR) status
  • Interview required prior to offer
  • Color Blind Testing within 1 year required
  • Radiation badge required for this role
  • Drug testing, background checks, and various health screenings (TB, flu vaccination or exemption, COVID vaccine not required for travel) are mandatory
  • Various facility-specific documents and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties (not specifically noted for this role but may apply if cross-trained)

  • Body procedures including vascular and interventional radiology studies
