Position Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• First Timers: Accepted
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • CNMT or NMTCB certification
  • Indiana State License (must have in hand before submission)
• Floating: May float within scope to other facilities based on need
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• Holiday Work: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Guaranteed Hours:

  • 8 or 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
  • Or 3 shifts of 12 hours (36 hours/week)
  • Or 4 shifts of 12 hours (48 hours/week)
• Special Requirements:

  • Experience with Cerner electronic charting system required
  • Community hospital experience required
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics

Required Documentation & Certifications

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
• Other certifications may be required depending on cost center/unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)
• State License verification (Indiana) through primary source within 30 days of start
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Photo for badge (professional, plain light background)
• Facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements
• Physical exam within 12 months of start date
• Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for 2024-25 season (no declinations accepted)
• Color Blind Exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
• Background check within 90 days of start (7-year history, education verification, etc.)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment (verified within 2 years)
• Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps
• Skills checklist within 12 months, completed annually
• Official transcript or diploma (may be pending at start)
• Education verification by third party (may be pending at start)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete facility-specific orientation packets and tests prior to start.
• On-site fit testing is limited and must be approved in advance.
• Must comply with all IU Health - Medefis policies and procedures.
