Position Details
- Specialty: Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), flexible to accommodate 4x12 if preferred
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in relevant setting (first-timers not accepted)
- License: Must have an active Illinois RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- On-call: No
- Floating: May float within scope as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: Subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA (RQI acceptable)
- NIH Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not required

Gastrointestinal
- Feeding tube care and management

- Pre/Post Hemodialysis management

IV Therapy/Phlebotomy
- Accessing ports, arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line and PICC line care/management
- Phlebotomy, peripheral line care
- Starting IVs
Medication Management
- Heparin protocols
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- PCA and procedural sedation administration

- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

- Non-invasive airway management

- Signed Code of Conduct
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required Oct 1 - Apr 1)
- Physical exam within 1 year, including labs
- Fit mask test (3M masks accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire (annual)
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
