Job Description

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Ascension St Vincent Anderson, you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assessing patients for appropriate treatment types and frequencies, and developing care plans based on diagnoses.
  • Implementing and monitoring patient care plans and equipment.
  • Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions.
  • Performing advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluating respiratory practices and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Educating patients and families about health conditions and available community support.
  • Responding to emergency resuscitation team codes.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • Required:

    • BLS Provider certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee (must be obtained prior to hire).
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (must be obtained prior to hire).
  • Preferred:

    • Advanced Life Support certification.
    • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.

Education

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR
  • Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR
  • 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Additional Information

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Onboarding Requirements:
    • Various certifications and health history documentation are required prior to starting, including but not limited to:
      • MMR vaccination proof or positive IGG titer.
      • Fit test for respiratory protection.
      • Health statement or completed physical exam.
      • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
      • Influenza vaccine documentation for the flu season.
      • TB screening documentation.
      • Varicella vaccination proof or history verification.
      • Tdap vaccination proof.
      • Background checks and employment verification.
