Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision.

Essential Job Functions

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by:

  • Positioning patients and providing immobilization devices.
  • Selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
  • Operating equipment as required for specific procedures.
• Restrict radiation beam to prevent exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
• Perform portable x-ray examinations in various settings (patient rooms, operating rooms, emergency room).
• Identify and mark patient films correctly.
• Develop exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
• Complete patient requisitions accurately.
• Maintain an orderly x-ray room as directed.
• Prepare and assist in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients.
• Perform administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, and record maintenance.
• Provide assistance to patients based on their individual needs.
• Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
• Modify and deliver care specific to the needs of the patient population served, including communication at appropriate levels.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in an X-ray Department.

• Contract Length: 89 days.
