Cardiac Sonographer Position

Location: Salinas, California

Job Overview

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Cardiology Assistant Director and/or attending Cardiologist.
• Provide age-appropriate care to patients in the Cardiology Department.
• Record and document procedure results accurately.
• Communicate urgent or questionable test results immediately to appropriate medical staff.
• Participate actively in the Cardiology Department’s Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
• Maintain and update patient information in computer systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on cardiology equipment.
• Assist with pulling contrast media as needed for procedures.
• Use effective communication and teamwork skills with patients, co-workers, and hospital staff.
• Maintain proficiency with new hospital technologies including Echo PACS and Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS).
• Serve as a resource for physicians regarding new cardiac ultrasound technologies (e.g., 3D/4D ultrasound) and daily use of PACS and CVIS.
• Participate in the accreditation process for the Echocardiography Lab (ICAEL).

Requirements

• ARDMS/RDCS or CCI registry in Adult Echocardiography (Required)
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards (Required)
• Minimum 1 year experience in Adult and Pediatric Echocardiography (Required)
• High school diploma or GED (Required)
• Familiarity with McKesson/CHANGE Healthcare and GE ultrasound equipment is highly desired
