Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30), Monday to Friday
• On-call required weekdays, weekends, and possible holidays
• Hurricane sign-up required (not guaranteed)

Job Description

• Must have 2 years recent Cath Lab experience
• Ability to scrub and circulate
• Skills required:

  • Diagnostic Right and Left Heart Catheterization
  • Interventional Cath
  • Rotablator
  • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • Closure Devices
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Sterile procedure and equipment set-up
• Patient population: Middle Adult to Geriatrics
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records system preferred
• Certifications required: ARRT or RCIS, ACLS & BLS (American Heart Association)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• ARRT or RCIS certification
• State License verification as applicable
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit and specialty

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• I9 and E-Verify documentation
• Background check within 6 months, including aliases, SSN trace, nationwide and sex offender checks
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (no instant tests)
• Physical exam within 6 months (signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA)
• Annual TB questionnaire and negative QuantiFERON lab test within 6 months (no PPD or TSPOT)
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination
  • Flu seasonal vaccination (required by 12/1/2024 for 2024-25 season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred (not required as of 8/8/23)
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required for clinical/allied health professions (valid for 5 years)
• References: 2 professional references within last 2 years required for all direct patient contact roles

  • Procedural Sedation Adults and Pediatrics
  • Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety (for OR/Perioperative)
  • Formaldehyde and Laser Safety (for OR Nurses)
  • PPE Donning and Doffing for COVID-19 (Nursing and Respiratory)

Certificates of completion must be saved and submitted as required.

• Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered
• On-call availability includes weekdays, weekends, and possible holidays
• Hurricane sign-up is required but activation is not guaranteed
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, acute care environment with middle adult to geriatric patients
