Job Details
- Shifts:
- 5 to 8-hour shifts
- Primarily 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
- Rotating every 3rd weekend on 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Call:
- Rotating overnight call during the week and on weekends
- Holidays:
- Rotating holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is MRI coverage, focusing on STAT or urgent cases
- Assist CT department when no MRI exams are scheduled
- Expected to handle 35-40 cases per day across 3 rooms
- Work setting includes outpatient, inpatient, ER, Level 1 Trauma, and teaching hospital environments
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment preferred
- Experience with inpatient care
- General skills: IV starts, EKGs, PACS, contrast administration
- MRI procedures: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Diffusion (Non-Brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, Image Post-Processing, Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR), Perfusion, Spin Echo Images, Surface Coils, T1-Weighted Images, T2-Weighted Images
- Documentation system: EPIC preferred
Certifications & Licenses
- AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - may be renewed onsite
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ER and related units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - required for Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, OB units
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - facility-specific requirements
- State License (Ohio) verification required within 30 days of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start for RNs
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Background check and fingerprinting (Ohio BCI & FBI) required
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 3 months of start
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate (annual)
- Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations including:
- Tdap
- TB test or questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination recommended but not required
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to provide proof of fingerprinting completion (in-state or out-of-state)
- Must complete various competency exams and documentation prior to or shortly after start
- Must comply with Ohio State University Hospital dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Must complete background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if applicable
- References: 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager or supervisor
- Education accreditation verification required for nurses
- Transcript/diploma required for Respiratory Therapists
