Radiation Oncology Therapist - Traveler (Backfill)

Job Overview

• Deliver external beam radiation therapy treatments using:

  • Varian 21EX (no rapid arc or IMRT, some step-and-shoot photon fields)
  • Accuray Tomotherapy (helical and tomodirect photon treatments)
• Use Mosaiq record and verify system for treatment documentation
• Work primarily in an outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering external beam radiation therapy on Varian 21EX and/or Accuray Tomotherapy machines
• Proficient in operating radiation oncology treatment machines and computerized treatment record systems

Licensure & Certifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• OBMI (Oregon Board of Medical Imaging)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Regular weekday schedule, Monday to Friday, approximately 8 AM to 5 PM depending on patient load
• Two therapists required on each treatment machine during patient treatments
• May work alone when performing CT scans
• Weekends generally not required unless there is an unexpected machine downtime requiring treatment (rare occurrence)
• No floating to other departments; dedicated to Radiation Oncology only

Orientation & Training

• Orientation through shadowing experienced Radiation Therapists
• Experienced therapists expected to become proficient within 1-2 days

Dress Code

• Business casual or scrubs
• No open-toed shoes
• Asante T-shirt or scrub top

• Candidate must meet licensure and experience requirements for this role
