Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: Evenings (2x10-hour shifts and 2x8-hour shifts or 3x12-hour shifts) with occasional weekends
• Call: One call every 6-7 weeks and 2 nights per month from 12:00am to 6:30am
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit Name: PACU – RN
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adult, and Geriatric
• Bed Count: 34
• Daily Census: 30 to 40 patients
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
• Specialties Covered: General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Not required
• Shift Rotation: Primarily evening shifts; occasional day shifts; no night shifts required

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant RN experience
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Completed primary COVID-19 vaccination series (FDA or WHO approved) or up-to-date COVID vaccine if primary series was never completed. No exemptions accepted.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30)
• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity strongly preferred
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Background checks including criminal background, CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, and exclusion checks
• Verification of highest level of education and professional license (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• Submission of references and skills checklist required

Additional Testing & Documentation

• Medication exam (80% passing)
• Advanced dysrhythmia exam (80% passing)
• Resume including 7 years of work experience and education details
• Submission checklist and confirmation of assignment form
