Special Procedures Tech - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Facility: Mission Hospital (HCA Healthcare)
Unit: Interventional Radiology


Unit Information

  • Beds: 2 single plane (GE) rooms, 2 biplane (Philips) rooms
  • Staffing:
    • 15 techs plus manager and Data/Quality Analyst
    • Nursing support for each room
  • Shifts:
    • Day Shift: 2 techs and 1 nurse per room
    • Night Shift: 1 tech and 1 RN onsite
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Equipment:
    • Single plane: GE
    • Biplane: Philips
    • Invasive CT scanner available
  • EMR System: Cerner (Radnet)

Required Skills

  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience (scrub and circulate)
  • Previous Neurointerventional Radiology experience (scrub and circulate)

Preferred Skills

  • Vascular OR experience
  • Cath Lab experience
  • VI Registered

Typical Procedures

  • Dialysis work (Permcaths, fistulagrams)
  • Neph tubes
  • Arteriograms/embolizations
  • Y-90 treatments
  • G tubes
  • TIPS procedures
  • Inari cases
  • Cerebral arteriograms
  • Coilings
  • Pipelines
  • Mechanical thrombectomies
  • Vertebroplasties

Certifications

  • BLS required

Work Schedule & Policies

  • Every 7th weekend required
  • One night secondary call during the week
  • Scrub color/attire provided by hospital
