Job Description
- Minimum Experience: 2 years; 1st timers accepted
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Certification)
General Skills and Work Setting Requirements
- General Diagnoses Include:
- ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)
- Sepsis
- Stroke
- STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
- DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)
- Post-op complications
- Cardiogenic shock
- GIB (Gastrointestinal Bleeding)
- COPD exacerbation
- Encephalopathy
- Liver failure
- Drug overdose
- ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) on CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
- Ratio / Census: 1:2-3 (Traveler should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient); 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19
- Unit Systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- RTO (Requested Time Off): MAX 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within facility
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.
Compliance
- Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant, the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
Contract Length
- 14 weeks
Additional Information
- Pre-Screen: Candidates will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit.
- Locals Accepted: Same rate as travelers.
Required Health Documents
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required within 12 months of start date.
- Flu Vaccine or Declination: Required.
- COVID Vaccine or Declination: Required.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start.
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start.
Required Competencies
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for specific units.
- Color Blind Testing Online: Required.
Required History
- References: 2 clinical references needed.
- Education Verification: Required.
- Work History Verification: Required.
