Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: El Paso, Texas
Facility: University Medical Center of El Paso
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Start time between 6-8 AM (dependent on scheduled cases)
  • Latest time out by 5-6 PM on non-call days
  • On-call schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (24/7 availability required)

Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology.
  • Support a diverse patient population across all age groups.
  • Report to the Cath Lab supervisor and work under guidance of catheterization laboratory technologist.
  • Circulating experience required.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology, or Neuro Intervention.
  • Certifications:
    • Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) required.
    • ARRT certification preferred.
    • CPR certification required.
  • Education: Associate degree in applied science from an accredited radiology or cardiovascular technology school.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Pending state license accepted.

Required Certifications & Compliance

  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • BLS (AHA only)
  • PALS (AHA only)
  • NRP (AHA only)
  • State License Primary Source Verification
  • NIH Stroke Certification (for RNs)
  • Background Check (7 years, including education verification)
  • Drug Testing (negative 10-panel within 30 days of start)
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination/declination)
    • Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer or vaccination/declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination/declination)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or approved exemption

Additional Requirements

  • Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Facility-specific onboarding modules and documentation completion
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date
  • Completion of facility-specific safety, confidentiality, and security training and acknowledgements
