Unit Description

• Surgical Stepdown Unit / PCU

  • 24 beds, serving intermediate care and unit-based patients.
  • Cares for surgical, neuro/neurosurgical, and trauma patients needing a higher level of care between unit level and ICU.
  • Functions as overflow for the MSDU and ventilator/high respiratory need patients.
  • Specializes in vascular surgery post-operative care.

Requirements

• Licensure: NY license in hand
• Certifications:

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA only)
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only)
  • State License Verification
• Health Documents:

  • Current Health Form/Physical Exam
  • Fit Mask (updated annually)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
  • Vaccination records for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation
  • Snellen Eye Exam
  • Drug Testing
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal Background Check (no older than 3 months)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks
  • HHS/OIG checks
• References: Minimum of 2 employment references
• Resume/CV: Current version required
• Education Verification: Academic verification from a third party required
