Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Facility: Shannon Medical Center
Hospital System: Los Angeles Workforce Disruption 2024
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: July
Schedule: Includes holidays as scheduled and call; possible Mon-Thurs 4x10s (1400-0000) may be considered


Licensure & Certifications Required

  • Texas License
  • ARRT (R) (MRI) / ARRT (MRI) / OR ARMRIT
  • ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; Shannon accepts ARC.CL)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC accepted; Shannon accepts ARC.CL)
  • PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain PALS for longer assignments)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
  • CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (refer to job details)
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
  • State License Verification and NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start
  • Tech Cert Verification - National within 30 days of start
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable

  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Check (7-year, including statewide, counties, federal, national, education verification, and international if applicable) within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • 2 References within 3 years
  • Employment Application/Resume
  • Skills Checklist (annual update)
  • Education Verification and/or Transcript/Diploma (may accept diploma as placeholder if verification pending)
  • Facility-specific forms including Non Employee Information Form and Vaccine Exemption Form if applicable
  • Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 6 months prior to start (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations/Vaccinations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year; annual TB Questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual test)
    • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or series with declination if applicable
    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination (required during flu season 10/31-3/31)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine initial series required (boosters not required)
  • Drug Testing within 30 days of start (includes multiple substances; instant acceptable)

Additional Notes

  • Legal name must match exactly on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications. Proof of name change alone is not sufficient. Any discrepancies must be reported immediately.
  • Pass/Fail exams during orientation include Medication Administration, Restraint, and Glucometer tests; remediation offered same day if failed.
  • Facility may offer on-site options for NRP if candidate’s certification is not Advanced Provider.
  • ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain certain certifications (PALS, TNCC) for longer-term assignments.
  • Facility-specific policies and requirements may apply; refer to job details for clarifications.
