Position Details

Job Description

The registered nurse in this role will:

• Monitor, examine, and evaluate patient conditions.
• Assist with care plans and take actions to promote patient outcomes and wellbeing.
• Deliver care according to established plans, applying independent judgment as necessary.
• Participate in data collection and collaborate with other staff on patient care plans.
• Prioritize and coordinate daily patient flow and experience.
• Maintain documentation of patient assessments, changes in condition, care delivered, and education provided.

Equipment Utilized

• EPIC computer charting with medication scanning
• Omnicell medication dispenser
• Phillips monitoring and EKGs
• Ventilators, iStats, Accu-check glucometer
• Waived testing, chest tubes, drains, and restraints

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of Critical Care experience
• Licensure/Certifications:

  • RN licensure for the State of Georgia or multi-state compact license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Shift and Schedule Requirements

• Shifts:

  • Four (4) 0700-1930 (AM)
  • Six (6) 1900-0730 (PM)
• Weekends: Required every other weekend
• Floating: Expected to float to all ICU units including CVICU, Neuro, SICU, STU, MICU

Nurse to Patient Ratio

• Contingent on patient type: 1:2-3 or 1:1

Dress Code

• Navy Blue scrubs

Orientation and Training

• Completion of a three-day preceptor-based orientation to the ICUs.
• Adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Understanding of expectations for covering ICUs and ability to multi-task.

Additional Information

• 2+ years of ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Must be willing to float as needed to ICU/IMC areas
• Recent level one or level two trauma experience preferred
• Previous travel experience is a plus
